Ocean Drive

Last Friday was a national holiday here, we're not sure what it was exactly for but it was some kind of a Saints day.  It was an usually warm and sunny day from the usual grey and rainy winter days we've been having.  It was an obvious holiday as the streets were empty and quiet and most of the stores and businesses were closed.  So we enjoyed a nice family day together.  We had a picnic in the park, kicked around our soccer ball, enjoyed sweet popcorn from a street vendor, and the kids were able to ride ponies in our park!  After all this fun, it was clear that nap time was needed for our youngest.  It was way too pretty to be cooped up in the apartment and so we decided to go for a drive and see where the road would take us.  We had a lovely drive, Boden had his nap, and we ended up on an isolated beach just before sunset.  It was beautiful!  Here are some pictures from our day.

Adding To The Ranks

Well, it's official. Child number three is on the way! The 'magic wand' confirmed it with two parallel lines Father's Day weekend, and now the doctor and her sonogram machine are in agreement. 

We had often wondered if, in our little clan, someone was missing. It appears the Lord has answered that question. So, we once again are awestruck by God's breath of life, and we are very excited to meet the newest addition.

Fútbol Fun

Did you catch it? Did you notice? Did you watch?

For us, the World Cup made for a fun month here in South America. I'm not sure if you knew it, but soccer is kinda popular here, especially when Chile is in the mix.

So, we got on the bandwagon and did our best to be a two-team family: USA and Chile. We watched all three of Chile's group stage games in Mario's church's fellowship hall using a projector. We watched the USA games at the Tomlinson's house in English (thanks to Hava).

We congratulate any of you Spain fans out there. They played an impressive tournament, and we were excited to see a new country added to the list of those who have taken the ultimate soccer prize.

All in all, I'd say our family grew together in our appreciation of the world's game. Such drama, such finesse, such athleticism, such skill. Very fun.
